Readmill is a social platforn for e-book reading that we’ve been keeping tabs on. Basically, you add ePub books in iTunes (or, even more easily through Dropbox) and you can read them back on their impressive iOS app.
At this juncture, you can’t buy books from Amazon or the iBooks store and have them jump straight into Readmill, so the primary book sources are free/public domain or bootlegged, but that promises to change in the near future as ePub downloads become more widely available. (Wouldn’t it be great if physical book purchases came with a code for an ePub download?)
Beyond reading, Readmill supports sharing and viewing highlighted passages and comments from other users.
The service is still in a closed beta, but we got a quick response after submitting our email.
